After the frightful Pulwana terror attack, people from all spheres of life are stepping forward for helping the martyred jawans’ families.
Viveik Patel, among them, who is a 26-year-old NRI residing in the US deserves a special mention.
He was shattered after he got to know about the misfortunate incident. He then decided to contribute through Bharat ke Veer to help the martyrs’ families. He came up with an alternative option, after the portal didn’t allow contributions through international debit and credit cards. He initiated a fundraiser on Facebook on 15 February’19.
Patel had just watched URI-The Surgical Strike and felt the strong need to support the martyrs’ families.
“I wanted to reach out to the maximum number of people and I think what better medium could we use than Facebook” – Viveik quoted.
The initial goal was USD 5,00,000 which now has hit 1 million USD within six days. Beat that!
The Facebook fundraiser right now has collected donations worth USD 8,65,307 which if translated becomes ₹6.15 crore.
This man is now trying to reach out to Indian authorities to make sure that the collected funds can be handed over in the right hands.
