Gender Discrimination Redefined

Gender Discrimination Redefined

When I was born, everyone in my family celebrated, this is what my grandma tells me. I was crying and they smiled and you know what I AM A GIRL CHILD. I heard people killing their infant just because they were born as girls or aborting baby after knowing the gender of it. Why not me then? I too was born as a girl, but never got discriminated. I have brothers in my family but even then I got whatever I wanted, my father never discriminated between me and my brother. Most of the times I got much more than my brother . Why can’t this thinking be of the society? Why can’t girls be treated equally in their family? When law given women equal rights in property of the parents, why can’t society stop discriminating?
In 21st century where everything is growing so rapidly people should also make their orthodox thinking a break and give their girl child equal importance as boy child. On one hand girls are worshiped in the form of goddesses and on the other hand we are ashamed to have a girl child in our families. This can only happen in India. A man could be so cruel to end the life of a girl child but how can a mother do this? If her parents thought the same, she won’t be in this world. Let us understand that she is the source of our origin. Without her, this world would end. Man!  Just think it was a women who have given you birth, it was a girl who was born as your sibling who was there with you always when you were in trouble, it is women whom you have married and she is making sure that you are happy. So why not a women as your daughter? Why are we ashamed to bring a girl into this world? Let’s think… Cry of an aborted female girl- Mom I know I was a girl. But didn’t I have any rights to be a part of this world. Can’t you like me like you love my elder brother? Mom I was a part of you. How could you do this to me? You were also a woman… How did you agree to people who told you to abort me? I also wanted to lie beside you holding you tight. I also wanted you to kiss my forehead. I also wanted to come to you with lot of prizes in my hand and see you happy. Why I was not brought into this world? Don’t I have a right to live, mom? What if your parents thought of not bringing you into this world mom? I just want to say I still love you mom… I just wish that you will regret it one day Let the world awake to a morning where no female child will be aborted… Let the world awake to a morning where women may not be discriminated… Let the world awake my dear friend… Let the world awake…
