WHEN WOMEN DON’T COME FORWARD!!!
“Fight for your rights” when we shout this to women, everyone hears this but some of them willingly shut their ears up. While fighting against gender discrimination is one thing, accepting this discrimination is another thing. Well, now the actual question arises “why does one accept this social injustice?”
In a country like India who gave birth to great women like Kalpana chawla, who conquered space and Bachendri pal who subjugated Mount Everest, even gave birth to a section of society where women consider this unfairness as their fate. Now this is something hard to assimilate. One will definitely find this attitude as a bit unwise. But before drawing a conclusion let me talk to you about a woman, Sundari whom I met accidently in coorg, a place in Karnataka, during my school excursion. I spotted this lady being beaten up by a drunk man. From their conversation, I found that he is her husband. When one of my teachers went forward to save her she shouted and said that we should stay away from him as he is her husband and has full rights to beat or even to kill her.
