Free the nipple with this Boob-themed Nail Art!

If you think it was just sparkle and shine in nail art, you are wrong!

Take a look at BOOB NAILS, created by Instagram user Erose Aziza, the self-described “sweetest witch you’ll ever meet.”

And a badass nail artist, too.

They have nipples! And piercings! And multiple skin tones!

Mei Kawajiri, a native of Japan moved to New York in the year 2012 and now is one of the most talented and sort after manicurist in the world. She has her own salon “Nails by Mei” in New York City which boasts of an illustrious clientele list. Kawajiri has previously done manicure for Google, Stella McCartney, Maybelline, Nordstrom, Givenchy, Balenciaga & plenty other high end brands. Inspired by 2012 “Free the Nipple” campaign Kawajiri started the trend of boob manicure. Nipples of all shapes, sizes, colors, nipples with piercings on them are manicured on the nails. It is a Kawajiri’s effort to stand against the censoring of showing nipples on all social media platforms.

Erose Aziza, Kawajiri’s model gave the idea a political angle by using the #freethenipple. The “Free the Nipple” campaign was created in the year 2012 after Lina Esco started filming “Free the Nipple”, a 2014 film which deals with the idea that women should be allowed to bare their nipples in public. Social Media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram prohibit the display of a women’s areola. Celebrities like Chelsea Handler, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna faced a lot of backlash because of sharing pictures where their chest is exposed. Women since then have been fighting against this censorship. Their claim is that women should have equal rights as men, if men are allowed to show their chest in public women should also be allowed the same privilege. Kawajiri’s effort is also in this direction, she is a feminist and she expresses her ideas in the best way she can which is through her art. Boob manicures are such a welcome trend and a positive message to all those young girls who are or have been body shamed for revealing too much.
