Battle of the sexes!!
” Oh ! Am I still a five year old child that I am not allowed go for an evening party alone as boys will stare me on my way ?” Every girl thinks about this question when their brothers are allowed to enjoy Saturday Nights while they are being told to stay back at home . Not only in these matters , but also in terms of dressing up, education, marriage and many more similar things , they are discriminated . While the amount of discrimination the girls face in the society is an unanswerable question but the question of why are girls being treated in this way remains undermined.
Discrimination of a girl on the basis of gender starts from her birth itself . While the birth of a boy is being celebrated with much pomp and show, the birth of a girl usually goes uncelebrated. This biasness continues during her school days as well .Likewise , she is not allowed to move much out of her house in lieu of protecting her dignity. Later ,during her graduation years , she isn’t allowed to apply for the colleges of her choice just in case they are far from the house. So she is forced to take up a career her parents choose for her. Consequently , she unwillingly completes her graduation . Sometimes girls facing a similar situation as they are compelled to give up their studies . Whether she is willing or not , due to parental pressure , she is compelled to marry a complete stranger or to get settled much before her age. This ordeal continues till she eventually gets independence from this earth and goes far away from all of us . Even after all these problems are faced by her , she is declared the culprit.
Is this all happening for the welfare of the women or the men ? With this question to revolve around in your mind I leave you; to introspect, to think from the point of view of a girl, to fit into a girl’s shoes and then I hope you will be able to give its answer; Is this all justified?
