Abortion v/s Terrorism

Abortion v/s Terrorism

In all parts of the world women have almost the same reasons for abortion. Abortion has been legal in India since 1971, when the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act was passed. So now, people could legally murder someone  who has never done anything wrong to them. Isn’t it cruel?  Women having abortion in these days have somewhat similar reasons like financial problem, no stable relationship with partner etc. In India, abortion is permitted in few pre-decided cases by the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act like foetus suffered from RH disease, woman’s previous children had congenital abnormalities, pregnancy in result of rape, if the pregnancy would endanger her life etc. after a specific procedure.

Guttmacher – a non profit organization working to advance reproductive health estimates that about 222 million women in the developing world are trying to avoid pregnancies, but aren’t using a modern form of contraception. They don’t even realize such steps may lead of having unintended pregnancies and unsafe abortion which are too risky for them. Unsafe Abortion sometimes leads to death of the pregnant women. According to Guttmacher, about 47,000 women die due to unsafe abortion all over the world. Not only do women die due to abortion but during the same time an unborn life is also been destroyed. Is it fair enough? Don’t you think that’s too serious? Terrorist is a term which has never got a specific definition. Terrorism can be used to carry on a conflict without the adversary realizing the nature of the threat. The United Nations produced the following definition of terrorism in 1992; “An anxiety-inspiring method of repeated violent action, employed by (semi-) clandestine individual, group or state actors, for idiosyncratic, criminal or political reasons, whereby – in contrast to assassination – the direct targets of violence are not the main targets.” It can be said that terrorism has three perspective : the terrorist’s , the victim’s and the general public’s. We can say that when 100 people women die of abortion there are only 37 people dying due to terrorism. Isn’t this a huge difference ? People do you still think that terrorism is the only great problem by which people die from? So it’s time to wake up and prevent unwanted pregnancies so that there decreases the rate of abortion.

The following are some tips how you can prevent yourself from unwanted pregnancies – • Use contraception • Having proper sex education especially teenagers. • Properly teaching family planning. • Never leaving anything for a chance. • Using Condoms. • Using Diaphragms(shallow cups made of silicone inserted into vagina). • Inserting a Intrauterine Devices(IUDs). • Taking birth control pills.
