Women In Delhi Did The Most Difficult Thing Possible—Danced In Sarees For A Flashmob

Flash mobs seem to be happening in every other city and it’s gaining momentum which is hard to revert.  Normally, we see youths participating in such activities. And when we see a group of women in sarees convincing us to wear it, it becomes a little unconventional. Yes! This flash mob took place in Delhi’s famous Select City Walk Mall on Tuesday where a group of women wanted to deliver this point home – Sarees are beautiful even today – by grooving to famous Bollywood songs. You can see the flash mob in this video uploaded by Shrey Khandelwal. This was conducted as an initiative by Devditi, an organisation which works for women empowerment and revives the trend of saree-wearing in urban society. I didn’t know that not wearing sarees was a result of evolving disdain for the attire and that we need promulgation for it! And I think the aunty in the extreme left agrees with me.
