Life Story of One of the ‘World’s Most Influential Teenager’: Malala Yousafzai

Her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, an educationist suggested that his own daughter will write for the BBC blog under a pseudonym name-Gul Makai. At the age of 12, she described the doomsday of Taliban had on the people by destroying schools, prohibiting girl’s education, and making the survival of women even worse. She explained how their life was greatly affected on the BBC Urdu Blog. As the blog ended up, she came up in a documentary after which she became a star; she was being interviewed, made public appearances, received awards. Yes, as a true star not in pretty dresses or make up but in her true and pious skin, as a role model and as an activist. The twist in the story came up when a bullet passed through her head and neck due to animosity of Taliban as she stood up for something right, something which we call as “female education”. With a fighting spirit accompanied with the blessings of all those for whom she fought, she came out of coma and finally came out of the ordeal. After this heinous act, the breeze of happiness flowed in her life, she spoke to UN to call for access to worldwide education and to her surprise 12th   July, and her birthday came to be known as Malala Day. Abruptly, I woke up and these words flowed within my mind- “This is not the end of my story but this is the part of the story you all must know for I am just a human like you but what makes me rise above the ordinary is my voice. You all have muted voices within your heart, the voice which wants to make a way through your mouth, the voice which wants to be heard and felt, the need is just to raise it. As we all will realize the importance of our voice when we are silenced.”
